Xoi ga (sticky rice and chicken) is one of the typical Vietnamese dishes. Xoi ga is an easy but tasty dish.
Ingredients
500 g Chicken thigh
2 Shallots
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 tbsp Lime juice
Preparation method for Xoi Ga
- Wash the glutinous rice and soak the rice for at least 2 hours. After soaking, drain the rice well.
- Steam the glutinous rice for about 15 minutes until it becomes soft and sticky. Make sure glutinous rice is neither too mushy nor too dry.
- Thoroughly clean the chicken thighs and cook the chicken until tender.
- Take out the chicken and let it cool.
- Pull the chicken into pieces (pulled chicken) with a fork or with your hands.
- Season the chicken with soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper, salt and lime juice.
- To give the Xoi Ga even more flavor, we add shallot oil.
- Cut the shallots into thin slices and fry them in oil over high heat. Turn off the heat when the shallot turns golden brown.
- Place cooked glutinous rice on a plate. Add the chicken and sprinkle on top of the shallots with shallot oil.
