Ingredients

- 8 tablespoons Mirin Sauce

- 1 1/2 tablespoon Sesame Oil

- 120 ml Thin Soy Sauce Superior

1.5 kg short ribs, 1/4 inch slices

10-12 cloves garlic, peeled

1 medium apple or Korean pear, peeled and diced

1 medium onion, diced

4 tablespoons sugar

4 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon salt

Preparation method for Galbi

1. Start by soaking the short ribs in cold water for 15-20 minutes. Afterward, rinse them well, remove any impurities, and pat them dry with paper towels. This helps to make the meat tender.

2. In a blender or food processor, combine the garlic, apple (or Korean pear), onion, soy sauce, mirin (or sake/Shaoxing wine), sugar, honey, sesame oil, and salt. Blend until smooth to create the marinade.

3. Place the short ribs in a large bowl or bag and pour the marinade over them. Make sure all the ribs are fully coated. Cover the bowl or seal the bag and let the ribs marinate in the refrigerator for at least 6-8 hours, preferably overnight for the best flavor.

4. After marinating, grill or roast the ribs until they are fully cooked. Enjoy this delicious Korean galbi!
