- 1-2 eetlepels (optioneel voor extra pittigheid) Chilli Oil with Fermented Soybeans
4 tomatoes, diced
1 onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cm piece of ginger, sliced
spring onion, for garnish
1 cup water
Preparation method for Tomato-flavored soup base for hotpot
1. Start by preparing the ingredients: Cut the tomatoes into cubes, slice the onion thinly, peel and crush the garlic cloves, and slice the ginger.
2. Add the tomatoes, broth, water, onion, crushed garlic, soy sauce, sugar, chili oil (if you like a little extra spice), and ginger to a large pot.
3. Place the pot over medium heat and bring everything to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let the soup base simmer for 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend and the tomatoes to soften.
4. If you prefer a smoother base, you can strain the soup to remove the solid ingredients. This step is optional, depending on your preference.
5. The soup base is now ready! Place the pot on the table and add your hotpot ingredients.
