
Babi Ketjap with Banana Chips

Babi ketjap originates from Indonesia. A delicious, easy-to-prepare Indonesian meal that also looks festive!

Ingredients
350 g Pork steak diced
4 Cloves of garlic shredded
2 cm Fresh Ginger Root pealed and shredded
2 Plantains sliced in 2cm pieces
Preparation method for Babi Ketjap with Banana Chips
- Mix the diced ham with the garlic, ginger and season with a little salt and pepper to taste. Leave to marinate for 30 minutes out of the frige.
- Heat 1 tbsp. rice- or wok oil in a frying pan and cook the meat on a medium heat, not too hot otherwise the garlic could burn.
- Add the ketjap to the meat and also 2 tablespoons of hot water. Close the pan with the lid and leave to simmer for about 20 minutes on a low heat. Season to taste with salt and pepper for extra flavour. li>
- Heat the remaining oil in a wok up to 160 °C and fry the banana slices for about 4-5 minutes per side. Allow to drip dry on kitchen paper and sprinkle on salt.
- Serve the Babi Ketjap with the banana crisps.

Serve with fragrant Jasmine rice.
