Koreans have a very different take on BBQ. In Korean barbecue, the idea is that you prepare the meal yourself a la minute. On the grill, which is usually built into the table. Bulgogi means "fire meat" and is one of the most famous Korean dishes.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Hon Mirin Cooking Wine 14%
- 150 g Kimchi
- to taste Jasmine Rice (Fragrant Rice)
- 2 tsp Roasted White Sesame Seeds
- 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 6 tbsp Thin Soy Sauce
1 kg beef rib eye
3 spring onion in pieces of 4 centimeters
1 small white onion in thin half moons
1 small root in thin slices
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp garlic
1/8 tl pepper
Preparation method for Beef Bulgogi
- Cut the ribeye into thin slices. If necessary, dry the meat with a paper towel. Tip: put the ribeye in the freezer for a while, then it will be easier to cut.
- Mix the soy sauce, water, sugar, honey, mirin, garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds and pepper in a large bowl. Then add the meat, spring onion, onion and carrot and mix all the ingredients. Let it marinate for an hour.
- Grill the meat and vegetables on the BBQ or in a grill pan over high heat so that the meat and onion caramelizes. If you use a grill pan, heat a little bit of sesame oil before adding the meat to the pan.
Serve tip
Serve with rice or take a leaf of lettuce, fill it with kimchi, the bulgogi and make a 'wrap' out of it.
