Kare-Raisu is a Japanese curry. It is one of Japan's most popular dishes. The common "curry rice" is usually simply called "curry" or in this case Kare-Raisu. This simple curry is flavorful and suitable for the whole family. You can also make the Kare-Raisu a day before for the day after, then it is even tastier!

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Rice Oil
- 1 box Spice Paste for Curry (Medium Hot)
360 g Chicken thigh
Salt and pepper to taste
4 Carrots
2 Onions
1 tsp grated Ginger
2 cloves of Garlic
5 Potatoes
1 Apple
1 tbsp Honey
2 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Ketchup
Preparation method for Kare-Raisu
- Cut the chicken into pieces and season with a little salt and pepper.
- Peel and cut the carrot into rolling wedges and cut the onions into wedges. Grate the ginger and crush the garlic.
- Cut the potatoes into 3 cm pieces and let them soak in water for 15 minutes and rinse well.
- Heat 5 tbsp rice oil in a large saucepan over medium heat and saute the onions until translucent. Add the ginger and garlic.
- Add the chicken and cook until the chicken changes color, add the carrot and mix.
- Add the chicken stock and bring to the boil.
- Peel the apple and grate it coarsely, add it to the stock.
- Add the honey and salt and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Then add the potatoes and cook for another 15 minutes.
- When the potatoes are ready, add the curry blocks, stirring well until the blocks are dissolved.
- Add soy sauce and ketchup and let it simmer for a while so that the curry thickens.
