Korean cuisine has been a trending cuisine for several years, it is also becoming increasingly popular in the Netherlands. The gochujang is a very famous spicy sauce from Korean cuisine. This sauce is used to make the Korean Fried Chicken. The chicken is fried twice, which makes it very crispy, and in combination with the sauce you get a nice spicy and sticky chicken.

Ingredients
1 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar
3 tablespoons of powdered sugar
750 g of sunflower oil
1 kg of chicken wings
1 teaspoon of baking powder
0.5 teaspoon of pepper
1 teaspoon of salt
2 spring onions: cut into rings
2 tablespoons chopped peanuts
Preparation method for Korean Fried Chicken
- First start by making the sauce. Place 2 tbsp sesame oil, 4 tbsp gochujang, 4 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar, 3 tbsp brown caster sugar, 1 tbsp grated garlic, 1 tsp grated ginger in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Let it boil for a while until the sauce has thickened.
- Heat 750 ml sunflower oil in a wok or deep fryer at 140 ˚C.
- Prepare kitchen paper on a plate, where you can place the chicken.
- Pat the chicken dry with kitchen paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the maïzena, baking powder, garlic powder, pepper and salt for the coating.
- Place the chicken in the bowl and mix well until the chicken is well covered with the coating.
- Then fry the chicken in the oil for 7 minutes, this is best done in parts. Drain the chicken on the plate lined with kitchen paper.
- Then heat the oil to 200 enC and fry the chicken again in the oil until golden brown. Then drain the chicken again.
- Then put all the fried chicken in the pan with the sauce and stir well.
- Once all the chicken is covered in sauce, you can serve it.
