
Mapo Tofu

Have you ever eaten Mapo Tofu before because you have been to China? Or have you seen this dish in Europe somewhere on a Chinese menu card and tried it? Always wanted to try it but never dared? This popular Chinese dish can be found all over the world. It is also very easy to make yourself!

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Rice Oil
- 4 tbsp Hot Chilli Bean Sauce
- 2 tbsp Chilli Oil with Fermented Soybeans
- 2 tsp Thin Soy Sauce Formula A (Healthy Boy)
- 1 Pack Firm Silken Tofu (Tetra Pak)
1 bunch of chopped spring onions
1 tbsp Maïzena
1 tbsp Sichuan pepper
200 g Pork chopped
200 ml chicken broth
1 tl sugar
Preparation method for Mapo Tofu
- Drain the tofu and cut into cubes. Cut the spring onions into thin rings and put everything aside.
- Stir the maïzena with a dash of cold water into a paste and set aside.
- Roast the Sichuan peppers briefly until you smell them and then grind them into a coarse powder in a mortar.
- Heat a little oil in the pan and add the minced meat and fry on a high heat. Then lower the heat, add the hot chili-bean sauce and the black beans with chili and stir-fry this 30-60 seconds.
- Then add the chicken broth, sugar and soy sauce and stir fry the whole another 20-30 seconds.
- Then tie the sauce with the maïzena, then add the cubes of tofu and carefully cover the whole.
- Simmer for 5 minutes. In the end, sprinkle with the spring onion and Sichuan pepper.
Serve tip
Serve with white rice.
