
Sushi Pie

There are lots of variations of sushi these days, but have you ever seen a delicious sushi cake! The great thing about this recipe: it's easy, it tastes delicious AND it looks great! Surprise your guests with this beautiful sushi tart!

Ingredients
- 2 sheets Yaki Nori Roasted Seaweed (Green)
- to taste Wasabi Paste
- 1 tbsp Roasted White Sesame Seeds
- 1 tbsp Roasted Black Sesame Seeds
- to taste Soy Sauce
- 300 g Japanese Shinode Rice
- 3 tbsp Sushi Vinegar Uchibori 360 ml
- 4 tbsp Japanese Mayonaise
150 g Fresh salmon
1/4 Cucumber
1 Avocado
Cake mold 12 cm (you can also use a bigger one: remember to adjust the quantity of the ingredients )
Preparation method for Sushi Pie
- Cook the sushi rice according to its instructions on the package. Mix the rice with the sushi vinegar. Set the sushi rice aside and let it cool down.
- Cut the salmon into cubes, the cucumber and avocado into slices.
- Mix the mayonnaise with the wasabi.
- Cut the nori sheets to fit your cake mold.
- Put one nori sheet in your cake mold. Spread one half of the sushi rice onto the nori and press it a bit. Wet your hands or spoon and the sushi rice will stick less.
- Put one half of the mayonnaise onto the rice, as well as the cucumber and avocado.
- Repeat step 5 &
- Put the salmon on top of the two layers and garnish your sushi pie with sesame seeds and shredded seaweed.
Serve tip
Serve the pie with some Kikkoman soya sauce.
