
Wonton Soup

Wontons fall under the same category as dumplings. It's the same thing but slightly different. Wontons are originally from Guangdong province in China. Wonton is a dumpling filled with pork and shrimp and are often eaten with egg noodles in a soup.Like dumplings, wontons are easy to make yourself!

Ingredients
- 0.5 teaspoon Thin Soy Sauce Superior
- 1 pack *Wonton sh. 11cm HAPPY BELLY pk 300g
- 30 g Bamboo Shoots (Strips)
- Few drops Sesame Oil
2 bacon
16 Shrimp, size 26/30
Pinch of pepper
0.5 tsp Sugar
0.5 tsp cornflour
1 egg
3 Slices of fresh ginger
1 shallot, chopped
2 spring onion
Preparation method for Wonton Soup
- Cut the bacon into small pieces so that it is easier to grind in the food processor. Do not grind it finely, you should still be able to see small pieces of meat.
- Let the shrimp thaw, peel and clean (remove the intestinal tract). You can save the heads and shells for the broth. Finely chop the shrimps and add them to the ground pork belly.
- Then also finely chop the bamboo and add it to the filling. You can also omit the bamboo if you don't like it.
- Then add 0.5 tsp chicken powder, a few drops of sesame oil, 0.5 tsp soy sauce, pinch of pepper, 0.5 tsp sugar, 0.5 tsp cornflour, and 1 egg to the filling. Mix the filling well with the ingredients.
- Then we will fold the wontons. Place 1 tablespoon in the center of the wonton wrapper. Fold the wonton in half into a triangle and fold in the side corners. Sprinkle the wontons with cornflour or flour to prevent them from sticking together and cover them briefly with a wet tea towel.
- Heat the wok over high heat with 3 tbsp rice oil.
- Sauté the ginger, shallot and spring onion, then add the shrimp heads and shells you saved. Wok until the heads and shells turn a little pink.
- Then add water in the wok until everything is submerged. Then put a lid on it and let the broth boil for 20-25 over medium heat. Then turn off the heat.
- Strain the broth and pour into a soup pot.
- Taste the stock and add your own salt, pepper and sesame oil.
- Then put the stockpot on the fire and bring the broth to a boil and add the wontons. The wontons are cooked as soon as they float, then let the soup simmer for another 1 minute and you can serve the wonton soup.

Garnish the soup with some spring onion
