The Shiitake mushroom grows (mainly) in Japan and also gets its name from there (shii = tree, take = mushroom). The dried Shiitake mushroom needs to be soaked in warm water for 20 minutes to soften it. You can then use the shiitake in e.g. wok dishes, soups or even on the grill or deep-fried!
